Scholarship Programme
-
In 2011 the Auerbach Foundation started its first own project – “The Auerbach Foundation Scholarship Programme - Your social internship”. With this Scholarship Programme the Auerbach Foundation sponsors students who want to do their work placement in a social organisation and consciously want to be part of a knowledge transfer between theory and practice. The idea of the Auerbach Foundation here is to bring the students and social organisations together and encourage an exchange between them.
An internship is an important and valuable way for students to get their first meaningful impression of working in social facilities. Alongside their theoretical training they also gain their own practical experience in working in social organisations. The scholarship holders do a written report on their placement experience. This ensures that the scholarship holders address the divergence between theoretical knowledge and experience and skills they have learned in practice. They compare the theory from their studies and the methods applied in practice and are then able to make suggestions for improvement in their respective organisation. This experience should also have a positive impact on their further education.

The organisations support the students in their process of reflecting on theory and practice. They demonstrate how theoretical knowledge can be applied in practice and are prepared to enter into a dialogue with the students. The organisations benefit from the scholarship holders insofar as they are kept up to date on what is currently being taught at universities and colleges.
Our sponsorship is not only financial, we also provide non-material support.
Our target group is students who are actively involved in social projects and public welfare in general. They have a social responsibility, are willing to do their part for society and enjoy doing a good job.
Our scholarship programme is open to all students, regardless of nationality and field of study, who
- are registered at a German university or college, and
- want to do a compulsory or voluntary internship in a facility in Germany.
