The Auerbach Foundation supports new projects as well as existing projects from nonprofitmaking organisations. Completed projects are unable to receive retrospective funding.

The Auerbach Foundation provides its support for the entire period of funding. The employees of the foundation visit the projects partners locally. The Auerbach Foundation attaches great importance to transparent cooperation in its partnership-based exchanges.

The Auerbach Foundation does not support private individuals at present. Information on other foundations can be found at the Association of German Foundations.

The approved funds are to be appropriated rationally and economically and only for the designated purposes. Claims for aid can only be made for expenditures incurring in the appropriation period and which are necessary to fulfil the purpose.Additional expenditure or a reduction in expenditure should be immediately reported to the Auerbach Foundation.

A prerequisite for the grant is that the project begins not later than three months after the planned start to the project, and overall financing is secured. Approval must be given by the Auerbach Foundation for any delays or projects starting ahead of schedule.

Project status reports should be made regularly and promptly to the Auerbach Foundation. Any basic changes (e.g. change in personnel) should, if possible, be reported in advance.

The project funding by the Auerbach Foundation is limited in time. During the period financed by the Auerbach Foundation, the project partner is obliged to apply for a follow-up funding.

The project partner shall himself be responsible for observing any statutory regulations or official requirements. The project partner shall likewise be exclusively liable for any loss or damage caused to himself or a third party in the execution of the project.

Upon receipt of the funding or partial funding, the project partner shall be obliged to issue the Auerbach Foundation formal confirmation of receipt of the respective funding in line with the official specimen according to § 50 EStDV [German Income Tax Implementing Regulations].

The Auerbach Foundation reserves the right to re-claim funding completely or partially if:

- The funding receipt or proof of use is not submitted.
- The overall financing of the project and/or the realisation of the sponsored project are jeopardised for other reasons.
- The funding is completely or partially used for purposes other than intended.
- The project does not start until more than three months after the planned start to the project.
