| Nowadays many children feel emotionally insecure, which can often be seen in behavioural disorders. This can sometimes lead to the exclusion of children with such conduct patterns – they are left out of things. New experiences that really get to someone can shake up old behavioural patterns and shape relationships anew. Music is one way of promoting new relationship structures. Playing music together consolidates the feeling of togetherness and gives the individual an emotional security within the group and it raises self-esteem. “MUSIKUZ – Musik, die Kunst des Zusammenlebens” - “MUSIKZ – Music, the art of living together” is a foundation without legal capacity which deals with the topic of strengthening children’s self-worth. |

School kids in the 8th Grade who come from a disadvantaged background can benefit from a wide range of programmes until they start off in working life. The programme goes by the title of “EDV – Erkenne die Vielfalt” – “Recognise the Diversity”. Apart from the project’s musical contents “beats instead of beating”, sumo wrestling is also on offer as a physical contest with fair rules and regulations. The effect of body language plays a very important part here. Tutors from the Theatre Academy also show the students the effects of space – depth – breathing – voice – presence and presentation. The Auerbach Foundation supports this integrative educational programme with artistic elements in order to raise the possibilities of disadvantaged kids finding their place in the working world. |
