It’s often difficult to reach young people who have fallen through various social safety nets. In Solingen the youth association Jugendwerke Bergisch Land e.V. therefore tries to get direct contact. An employee from the clearing point visits various social boiling points several times a week. In a personal discussion she explains the support projects to the kids, whether they are punks, emos, skins or youngsters with a migration background. Every young person gets a contact card with all the important information, so that, if necessary, they know where they can get help or whom they can turn to. Help is there for young people who have dropped out of school, who have no idea as to how to earn their living and have often come into conflict with the law or have experience with drugs.
