Innocence in Danger (IID) was founded in Paris in 1999 and is in the meantime active in several countries, also in Germany with the association IID Deutsche Sektion e.V. which was set up in 2002. The objective is to protect children from abuse and exploitation – in particular in the fields of new media, such as the Internet and mobile phones. The prevalence and circulation of mobile videos involving violence and sex or chatting in Internet forums mean that youngsters are involuntarily confronted with sexual issues. However, a current study shows that the youngsters affected tend not to seek help in the “real” world.
