Writing your own future as a young reporter.

Hilfe-für-hungernde-Kinder gGmbH - Writing your own future as a young reporter.

More and more children and adolescents in Germany are affected by poverty and suffer from the consequences of nutritional deficiency, neglect and social marginalisation. They often only have meagre chances for education, integration in society and a future, at all. The project “Stadtteilreporter”  [District Reporter] is working against this development by taking care of the youngsters affected. With extensive seminars they are “trained” as district reporters and learn how to engage for their interests and positive changes. This way they have the possibility of examining their living environment and getting involved in the political and social life in their own city district.   Co-determination and the acquisition of political influence can be communicated to the youngsters in a youth-friendly, interesting and attractive form. In working groups and seminars the participants acquire skills for the work of a youth reporter. Ideally, with their newly acquired skills in presentation techniques, communication, politics and event management, the young people should be able to realise and pass on their ideas. Likewise, they can also support the ideas of other young people and set up an entire new network. The Auerbach Foundation sponsors this project that encourages and qualifies young people to take their future and personal targets into their own hands.
