Making it easy for young people to assume social responsibilit.

proyect wogama ltd. - Making it easy for young people to assume social responsibilit.

Young people from the age of 14 can learn how to lead and motivate group activities with children. They learn the basics in how to deal with children, but also in working on topics they themselves have chosen. The theoretical instruction is combined with practical experience so that the youngsters can gain their first experience in this field. The concept of the training is extremely flexible so that interested parties can join at any point in time. This means that when a young person feels particularly motivated he or she can start in this project. This system of courses has been organised in a joint effort by proyect wogama ltd. and the adult further education centre Volkshochschule Ulm.

In the meantime many clubs and associations make use of this possibility for helping young people to gain social competencies. This is not the only advantage, they also gain enormous experience in team work for later life. Every year some 15 participants successfully complete the course but after this most of the young people continue to be involved as volunteers in various clubs and associations. This ranges from organising the kids’ holiday programmes through the City of Ulm’s Children City Project to regular children group activities. With the sponsorship of the Auerbach Foundation this project can be continued until 2010.

About the Auerbach Foundation

The aim of the Auerbach Foundation is to provide help and support for people on a lasting basis.

To be able to grasp a situation we first have to understand it. And with this understanding we can, within the scope of our project funding, provide an impetus, and that is the first step in helping people to help themselves.

With its charitable and social donations the Auerbach Foundation minimises financial, spiritual, mental and physical hardship. It also seeks to create avenues for art, culture and science and, in doing so, to safeguard values, such as security and creativity.

In concrete terms this means:
  • Funding people:
youth aid, aid for the old, aid for the disabled, development aid
  • Funding education and socialisation
  • Funding science and research
  • Funding art and culture
The Auerbach Foundation was founded in 2005 by the Avira GmbH partner, Tjark Auerbach and finances its projects from donations.

Anyone buying the software Avira AntiVir Premium or Avira Premium Security Suite in the Avira online shop, makes a contribution of five euros per product to the Foundation projects.

In 2008 a total of approximately € 800,000 will go to benefit social and cultural projects.
