Work placement service for persons with disabilities gives them more self-esteem.
 |
The aim of the project “Integrative Work Remscheid” (Integrative Arbeit Remscheid) is to integrate people with disabilities or social disadvantages into working life. Business enterprises are often unwilling to employ people with social or health impairments. This is usually because the companies are afraid of the risks this involves. With its non-profit placement of workers, Arbeit Remscheid gGmbH assumes this risk of recruitment like a regular temp agency: the people with disabilities are employed by the association and are given jobs in the companies specially suited to them. The businesses also receive additional support from a work coach and a social worker who are there to help at short notice if difficulties arise. This way, jobless people from this social group have a chance of being integrated in the companies and possibly even being taken on. At the same time reservations within the companies can be reduced and possibly jobs for people with disabilities created. The start-up financing of the Auerbach Foundation enables this very promising project to stand on its own feet.
About the Auerbach Foundation
The aim of the Auerbach Foundation is to provide help and support for people on a lasting basis.
To be able to grasp a situation we first have to understand it. And with this understanding we can, within the scope of our project funding, provide an impetus, and that is the first step in helping people to help themselves.
With its charitable and social donations the Auerbach Foundation minimises financial, spiritual, mental and physical hardship. It also seeks to create avenues for art, culture and science and, in doing so, to safeguard values, such as security and creativity.
In concrete terms this means:
- Funding people:
youth aid, aid for the old, aid for the disabled, development aid
- Funding education and socialisation
- Funding science and research
- Funding art and culture
The Auerbach Foundation was founded in 2005 by the Avira GmbH partner, Tjark Auerbach and finances its projects from donations.
Anyone buying the software Avira AntiVir Premium or Avira Premium Security Suite in the Avira online shop, makes a contribution of five euros per product to the Foundation projects.
In 2008 a total of approximately € 800,000 will go to benefit social and cultural projects.
