“Fair from the start” solid as a rock.
 |
“Fair from the start” is directed at girls and boys in preschool facilities, primary schools and schools for children with special needs. In the Maisach primary school two periods a week are dedicated to the topics “social learning” and “self-assertion”. With age-appropriate games, exercises, working material and just by talking to one another, the teacher and an external social education worker show the children how they can stave off conflicts and violence. Information seminars also involve the parents before the “Fair from the start” course begins and once it’s completed. The course is designed in such a way that the teachers and parents themselves can effectively continue with what has been dealt with in the course.
With the course “Fair from the start” the children are shown how they
can protect themselves against violence and sexual abuse. The aim is
also to build up communication between the children, their parents and
teachers, to improve everyday school life and help the children with
this target in mind. In 2009 the Auerbach Foundation will make it
possible for other classes to participate in such a course. The most important targets of the “Fair from the start” project are:
Support for the children Awareness and expression of their own feelings, needs and interests, setting and respecting limits.
Support for the parents Involvement in and information on the learning targets and the work with the children, real help and motivation in their socialisation responsibilities.
Support for the teachers Qualified assistance and help. Cooperation with specialists and institutions.
About the Auerbach Foundation
The aim of the Auerbach Foundation is to provide help and support for people on a lasting basis.
To be able to grasp a situation we first have to understand it. And with this understanding we can, within the scope of our project funding, provide an impetus, and that is the first step in helping people to help themselves.
With its charitable and social donations the Auerbach Foundation minimises financial, spiritual, mental and physical hardship. It also seeks to create avenues for art, culture and science and, in doing so, to safeguard values, such as security and creativity.
In concrete terms this means:
- Funding people:
youth aid, aid for the old, aid for the disabled, development aid
- Funding education and socialisation
- Funding science and research
- Funding art and culture
The Auerbach Foundation was founded in 2005 by the Avira GmbH partner, Tjark Auerbach and finances its projects from donations.
Anyone buying the software Avira AntiVir Premium or Avira Premium Security Suite in the Avira online shop, makes a contribution of five euros per product to the Foundation projects.
In 2008 a total of approximately € 800,000 will go to benefit social and cultural projects.
