Child = Child.
Irrespective of where he comes from.
 |
With its slogan, “Every child has a right to protection and acceptance, to support and education, irrespective of where the child comes from,” the German Association for the Protection of Children (DKSB) is campaigning for the acknowledgement and strengthening of the rights of children. Students studying on social courses, provide two hours of academic and language training to around 20 primary schoolchildren four times a week, under the supervision of their teachers. The aim of this is to encourage the children to become more independent, to make education fun using learning games and to make it easier for them to integrate into society on a social and personal level. The project “Child = Child” has set itself the objective of making every child feel accepted and allowing him to develop as a child in his or her own unique and individual way. The Auerbach Foundation is pleased to assist with this and provides support for the Association for the Protection of Children (Kinderschutzbund). With this long-term support, the voluntary helpers can now concentrate fully on the actual content of their work with the children. Their existing homework support and language support schemes can now be supplemented and expanded. A group is currently being planned for pre-school children, who can then be specifically prepared and supported for joining school.
About the Auerbach Foundation
The aim of the Auerbach Foundation is to provide help and support for people on a lasting basis.
To be able to grasp a situation we first have to understand it. And with this understanding we can, within the scope of our project funding, provide an impetus, and that is the first step in helping people to help themselves.
With its charitable and social donations the Auerbach Foundation minimises financial, spiritual, mental and physical hardship. It also seeks to create avenues for art, culture and science and, in doing so, to safeguard values, such as security and creativity.
In concrete terms this means:
- Funding people:
youth aid, aid for the old, aid for the disabled, development aid
- Funding education and socialisation
- Funding science and research
- Funding art and culture
The Auerbach Foundation was founded in 2005 by the Avira GmbH partner, Tjark Auerbach and finances its projects from donations.
Anyone buying the software Avira AntiVir Premium or Avira Premium Security Suite in the Avira online shop, makes a contribution of five euros per product to the Foundation projects.
In 2008 a total of approximately € 800,000 will go to benefit social and cultural projects.
